Fort Worth police are investigating the death of a 44-year-old woman who was found unconscious in an east side neighborhood early Tuesday as a homicide, according to a police report.

Officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Roseland Street shortly before 2 a.m. They found the victim, Shanon Michon Harris, unconscious and lying face-up on a sidewalk near the intersection with Lancaster Avenue, according to police records.

Harris was pronounced dead after she was taken to a hospital.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office hasn’t yet determined what caused her death, but homicide detectives are investigating, according to police records.
