Two people, including a teenager, were killed in unrelated shootings on May 15, Dallas police said. There are three suspects in custody.

Officers responded to the 9500 block of Forest Lane in far northeast Dallas shortly before 1 p.m. regarding a shooting call. An unknown person had shot 26-year-old Ktrell Rodgers, police said. Rodgers died at a hospital from his injuries.

Detectives later arrested Desmond Gregoire, 30, and said he is suspected of shooting Rodgers, officials announced Wednesday. Gregoire faces charges of capital murder, unlawful carrying of a weapon and evading arrest on foot. Officers seized a weapon and a backpack containing marijuana and drug paraphernalia from Gregoire after the arrest.

Gregoire was taken into custody with the assistance of the Dallas Police Department’s Project Safe Neighborhoods and Northeast Crime Response Team.

Police also arrested Miya Taylor, 29, in connection with Rodgers’ death, officials said. Taylor faces a capital murder charge.

Officers responded to another fatal shooting around 9 p.m. May 15 in the 7900 block of Great Trinity Forest Way, in southeast Dallas. They found 17-year-old Camyron Gaines lying on the ground. Gaines was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Police arrested 18-year-old Lorenzo Torres in connection with the shooting that killed Gaines. Torres faces a murder charge.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, a witness told police that he drove Gaines to meet with Torres at the location where the victim was killed.

Gaines and Torres talked in the parking lot and then walked around the side of a building, out of sight of the witness, who then heard a gunshot, according to the affidavit.

Torres was arrested at his home and did not make a statement to police, the warrant says.
