A woman was killed and three other people were wounded Saturday during an exchange of gunfire in the 2100 block of North Masters Drive in Dallas, according to police.

Investigators believe people in two cars were shooting at each other while driving eastbound on Bruton Road in the Pleasant Grove area around 4 p.m.

A bullet entered the vehicle of a bystander, 39-year-old Ana Moreno, hitting and fatally injuring her, according to police. Moreno and three other people who were shot were taken to local hospitals. Moreno died, and three male victims were in critical condition.

According to a GoFundMe for Moreno’s family, at the time of the shooting the mother of three was driving her 18-year-old daughter to pick up her prom dress. Moreno has two daughters and a son.

WFAA-TV spoke to one of Moreno’s daughters, Michelle Rodriguez.

“She would always ... like anything you would want in a mom, that was her,” Rodriguez said Sunday night at a vigil for her mother.

“It wasn’t her time — it wasn’t supposed to be her,” Rodriguez told WFAA. “And it’s over something stupid. How do you do that to someone innocent?”

Police said Sunday that no suspects are in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
