Lewisville ISD elementary teacher charged with sexual assault of a child, police say
A teacher in the Lewisville Independent School District was arrested and charged with sexual assault of a child Wednesday, according to The Colony Police Department.
Officers began investigating a report from a parent who grew suspicious of her child’s teacher after picking up her 10-year-old from school the previous week, police said in a news release.
Officers immediately responded to the home of the child and an investigation was initiated, police said.
Police had a warrant for the arrest of John Collett, a teacher at Camey Elementary School. He is being charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child.
At this time, there are no other known victims, police said.
Police ask that anyone who has information or questions regarding this case to contact The Colony Police Department School Resource Officer Sgt. Ryan Shipp at 972-624-3949.
The investigation is ongoing.
