Saginaw man shot in his house; police believe he was targeted in robbery

A man was shot at his house early on the morning of April 14 when someone attempted to rob him, according to the Saginaw Police Department.

At about 1:40 a.m. that Friday, police were dispatched to the 700 block of Cardinal Drive in response to a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers found a 37-year-old man who was coming out of a house with what appeared to be gunshot wounds, according to police.

The victim is expected to survive and was taken to a hospital, police said.

Investigators believe the victim, who is the homeowner of the residence, was targeted and robbed by one or more assailants as he arrived at his home that morning.

The investigation is ongoing.
