Dallas police announce three arrests in two unrelated homicides from March and this month

Dallas police have made arrests in two seperate homicides from March 10 and April 8, according to news releases from police.

In the April 8 homicide, 20-year-olds Christopher Torres and Vargas Zuniga were charged with murdering Andy Rangel, 24, in the 8800 block of Polk Street, according to the news release. Both were arrested by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol during a checkpoint search and are being held in the Imperial County Jail in El Centro, California.

In the March 10 killing, police on Monday arrested Dayell Bennett, 44, and charged him with murdering Fredrick Miles, 51.

Police said Bennett shot and killed Miles on March 10 in the 3400 block of Southern Oaks Boulevard. Miles was found there after family members called police saying they hadn’t heard from Miles for four days.

According to police, Miles was shot inside his apartment and died from his wounds.
