Denton police have arrested a 38-year-old man after they identified him as the suspect in two bank robberies in February and November, according to a news release.

Jonathan Fleming, a Denton resident, was arrested Thursday, according to police.

On Nov. 10, police responded to a robbery call at a Wells Fargo in the 600 block of West University Drive in Denton, where witnesses told investigators that a man with a gun told the teller to take him into the bank’s vault, according to the news release. The man took money, left the bank and sped away in a car. Denton police and the FBI responded and began investigating.

On Feb. 22, Flower Mound police responded to a call about a similar robbery and received a tip that led detectives to identify Fleming as a suspect, according to the release. Fleming was arrested without incident Thursday in connection with the Flower Mound robbery, and Flower Mound and Denton police worked with the FBI to execute a search warrant at Fleming’s home in the 2100 block of West Hickory Street in Denton.

On Monday, Fleming was charged with aggravated robbery for the Wells Fargo robbery, according to police. He is being held in the Denton County Jail, where bond has not been set.
