Police in North Richland Hills ended a standoff Friday night with an arrest after they deployed tear gas while continuing negotiations with a man who had barricaded himself in a home on Diamond Loch East,, according to police.

Seth Caleb Calvert, 21, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and deadly conduct from a vehicle in connection to a drive-by shooting on Jerrell Street in December, according to police. An 8-year-old girl was injured in that shooting when gunfire came into her home, police said.

Calvert is being held on $530,000 combined bond for both charges.

The standoff started around 5 p.m. Friday, when officers arrived to serve a warrant, according to police. The SWAT team was called to the scene.

Around 7:30, police announced on Twitter that negotiations were still underway and officers were still using tear gas deployments to help end the standoff. It ended around 9:20 p.m.
