One person left dead after fiery car crash in Haltom City

One person is dead after a crash that caused their vehicle to catch fire Sunday morning, Haltom City Police said.

At about 3:42 a.m., officers responded to the 5600 block of NE Loop 820 eastbound where they found a white Chrysler PT Cruiser that veered off the road between the main an toll lane roads. The vehicle struck a light pole and caused a fire.

The driver was not able to escape, and first responders had no chance to rescue them due to the gravity of the collision. Crime scene personnel assisted the investigation into the crash.

The driver will be identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office after family members have been notified.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and more information will be released once available.
