A deputy medical examiner in Dallas County was shot to death by her husband on Tuesday inside her Dallas office building, authorities said.

The suspect, James Frost, 51, fatally shot himself after he killed Beth Frost, 46, according to a WFAA-TV report that cited The Dallas County Sheriff’s Department. The Frosts were estranged.

Law enforcement officers found their bodies while responding to a report of shots fired and a possible active shooter, the Associated Press reported.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins said two medical examiner’s office employees were struck by gunfire before the self-inflicted shooting, the Dallas Morning News reported. The condition of one of the employees was not clear.

The shooting occurred about 4:30 p.m on the second floor of the building on North Stemmons Freeway near Wycliff Avenue, KTVT-TV reported.

Authorities also evacuated the adjacent Dallas County Health and Human Services building.
