Tarrant County sheriff’s deputies raided what the office is calling an illegal gambling operation in Watauga, according to a news release.

Deputies raided the Watauga Social Lounge, at 6531 Watauga Road, on Oct. 9, confiscated cash, arrested 10 people and cited another 49, according to the release.

A photo of a search warrant shared with the Star-Telegram shows the department was looking for video poker, blackjack, roulette and other “electromechanical or mechanical games,” as part of its search.

Another photo showing the sheriff’s office’s seized cash log indicates that the department confiscated more than $200,000 in cash from poker club patrons.

The amount confiscated by deputies included $132,840 in poker tournament prize money, according to a post on the club’s Facebook page.

The post said the club is preparing to take legal action to try to get the prize money back from the sheriff’s office.

Club owner Joe Vongkaysone declined to comment Monday, citing the advice of his attorneys.

The Mid-Cities Drug Task Force and the Watauga Police Department also were involved in the raid, according to the sheriff’s office release.
