Police on Monday afternoon arrested a suspect on suspicion of murder in the killing earlier in the day of his 61-year-old second cousin in northwest Fort Worth.

Breckron Wolfe, 26, was booked in connection with the shooting death of Ronald Collins, who was pronounced dead about 9:30 a.m. at John Peter Smith Hospital, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. Collins was shot about 8:15 a.m.

Police did not release a motive for the killing in the 5300 block of Driftway Drive. A department spokesperson said officers found Wolfe at the scene.

Collins appeared to have been shot in his head and in another part of his upper body, police said.

There have been 88 homicides in Fort Worth this year. At this time last year, there had been 89 criminal killings in the city, according to the police department.
