A Dallas-Fort Worth based attorney who represented the Oath Keepers and was with the group’s founder at the Jan. 6 Capitol riots was arrested Thursday.

Kellye SoRelle faces four charges related to the Jan. 6 storming of the Capitol. According to court documents, she was charged with conspiracy, obstruction of a federal proceeding, tampering with documents and misdemeanor trespassing in a restricted building or grounds.

SoRelle, an attorney from Granbury, told CBS News in January that she had stepped in as the acting president of the Oath Keepers after the group’s leader, Elmer Stewart Rhodes III, 56, of Granbury, was arrested. The Oath Keepers are classified as an extremist far-right group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

SoRelle is accused of aiding and abetting others to impede Congress’s certification of the Electoral College vote, according to the Washington Post, and persuading others to withhold or destroy documents. SoRelle was arrested in Junction, Texas, according to CBS News, and was set to make her initial appearance sometime after 11 a.m Thursday in Austin.

Rhodes’ indictment in January alleges Oath Keepers discussed trying to overturn the election results for weeks and prepared for a siege by purchasing weapons and setting up battle plans. They repeatedly wrote in chats about the prospect of violence and the need, as Rhodes allegedly wrote in one text to scare Congress. And on Jan. 6, the indictment alleges, they entered the Capitol building with the large crowds of rioters who stormed past police barriers and smashed windows, injuring dozens of officers and sending lawmakers running.
