17-year-old dies from gunshot in Denton County homicide, authorities say Tuesday
A 17-year-old who was found wounded early Sunday has died from a gunshot to his abdomen in Denton County, officials said Tuesday.
The death of Brayan Alvarez has been a ruled a homicide, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
No arrests had been made in the case as of Tuesday, an official with the Denton County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies responded to a call at about 2 a.m. Sunday at Elk Point Driver and Cove Meadows Drive in an unincorporated area of Denton County near Little Elm.
When deputies arrived, Alvarez was being treated for a gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital where he later died.
Officials with the Denton County Sheriff’s Office did not release any information on a motive for the shooting.
The case is still under investigation.
