A Fort Worth woman remained in the Tarrant County Jail on Monday and accused of being involved in the killing of a furniture delivery truck driver on Aug. 5 in Fort Worth.

A 29-year-old Fort Worth woman was taken into custody on Friday in the carjacking and killing of a delivery truck driver on Aug. 5, becoming the second suspect arrested in the case.

Jail records identified the woman as Melody Marina Carbajal, who was arrested Friday. She faces a charge of murder in the death of Canales Furniture driver Fabricio Rivera-Perez, 30, of Arlington.

The Arlington man’s body was found on a road in the 3800 block of Reed Street in Fort Worth.

Carbajal remained on Monday in the Tarrant County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.

Rivera-Perez, who worked for Canales Furniture, was driving a delivery truck when the carjacking occurred at about 11 a.m. on Aug. 5, Fort Worth police have said.

Fort Worth police responded after someone called and said he(Rivera-Perez) lost “a lot of blood.”

“We will miss him more than words can express,” Canales Furniture said in a statement. “He was not just our coworker but part of the families who complete Canales Furniture. We are asking you to join us in prayer for the peace of his soul. May God give strength to his family members to cope with this huge loss.”

The truck was found a few blocks away, police said.

Carlos Valdez, 28, of Fort Worth was arrested Aug. 23 and faces a murder charge.

A ruling is pending by the medical examiner’s office on how Rivera-Perez was killed.
