Lake Worth shooting began as domestic dispute, police say; the suspect is in custody

A man was shot on Monday in Lake Worth by an assailant who previously had a relationship with a woman with whom the victim is now in a domestic partnership, police said.

The victim was shot about 3 p.m. in the upper leg at a residence in the 4500 block of Hodgkins Road, Lake Worth police said.

The victim was taken in serious condition to a hospital, police said.

Police arrested Nicholas Matteson, 22, on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
