An 8-year-old boy was shot and two other children were injured Sunday afternoon in a road rage shooting in Balch Springs, according to news reports.

The 8-year-old was taken to a Dallas hospital after being wounded in the incident, which occurred on westbound Interstate 20 between Beltline Road and Seagoville Road in Balch Springs.

The shooting occurred just before 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

KXAS-TV reported that the road rage was between people in a Honda sedan and a dark-colored sedan that resulted in someone shooting at the Honda, striking the 8-year-old.
