The driver of a car died on Saturday in a collision with a 18-wheeler in Haslet, authorities said.

The vehicles slammed head-on into each other about 5:45 p.m. in the 600 block of Highway 156, according to the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver of a Kia Forte was pinned, and the car caught on fire.

Good Samaritans pulled from the car the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office had not released the name or age of the driver.

The sheriff’s office did not say whether the collision involved a criminal offense.
