A 35-year-old man was fatally shot outside of his Arlington home Thursday night.

The shooting occurred around 10:45 p.m. in the 6000 block of Bay Hill Drive.

Responding officers said upon their arrival, they found a man lying in a driveway with apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was identified as Donald Williams of Arlington by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. His cause of death was gunshot wounds to the torso and right lower extremity.

Police said they don’t believe the incident was random.

“Based on the investigation, it appears the suspect(s) fired at the victim, who was also armed at the time, and then drove away from the location in an unknown vehicle,” police said.

Further details in their investigation have led detectives to believe the shooting is connected to a “previous altercation between the victim, his associates, and another group.”

Anyone with information should call Detective Holly at 817-459-5935, or leave an anonymous tip at 817-469-8477.
