No threats were made and nobody was hurt after a student at W.A. Meacham Middle School in Fort Worth brought a gun to campus Wednesday, police said.

Fort Worth police said that after 4 p.m., a campus officer was notified by a school representative that a student may have been in possession of a firearm.

A student made a statement saying they saw another student on campus with a gun, a police spokesperson said.

The campus officer detained a juvenile suspect, found that the student had a weapon on his person and safely seized the firearm, police said.

The student will be charged with unlawful carrying a weapon in certain prohibited places.

The school is located at 3600 Weber St. in north Fort Worth.
