East Fort Worth shooting Friday night leaves one dead, police say

A man died after being shot inside a vehicle Friday night, Fort Worth police said.

The shooting occurred around 9:40 p.m. near the 3900 block of Clotell Drive.

Responding officers said a man, inside a vehicle, was shot and in critical condition by the time they arrived at the scene.

The victim, who was later identified as 25-year-old Deanthony Ford, of Arlington, was taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet listed Ford’s official cause of death.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Police have not taken anyone into custody as of Saturday morning.
