Teen brothers die of gunshot wounds suffered at North Richland Hills house, police say

Two teenage brothers died early Monday of gunshot wounds that they suffered inside their North Richland Hills house, police said.

Anthony Aponte, 17, was pronounced dead about 5:45 a.m. at the house in the 5100 block of Gibbons Drive, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Isaiah Aponte, 19, was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital and was pronounced dead in the emergency department within an hour.

North Richland Hills police indicated that at least one of the deaths was a homicide but did not describe the manner of the second, and the medical examiner’s office had not released its determination.

Police said that an investigation was leading them to believe that “there is no further threat to the public.”

Officers were canvassing the area, and detectives were following up on leads.
