23-year-old Fort Worth man killed in Crowley shooting, police say

A 23-year-old Fort Worth man died after police said he was shot Wednesday night in Crowley.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified him as Nathan Cole Smith Jr.

Police said the shooting occurred around 9 p.m. near the 1600 block of Mackinac Drive.

Upon arrival, police officers found a young man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital with life-threatening injuries and died in the emergency room.

Police said there’s no ongoing threat to the public and that the shooting was an isolated incident.

The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been announced.
