Arlington police search for suspect who shot BB gun at people, blinding man in one eye

Arlington police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person who shot people with a BB or pellet gun from a vehicle in July, injuring five, including a 64-year-old man who has permanently lost sight in one eye.

Police responded to four incidents involving the suspect from 8:40 to 9:30 p.m. on July 29, according to an Arlington police Facebook post. The incidents occurred at the intersection of Rushmoor Drive and Woodside Drive, the 3500 block of Woodside Drive, the 2500 block of Pleasant Ridge, Kelly Elliott Road and W. Sublett Road.

A similar incident also occurred on Aug. 9 in Dalworthington Gardens. One person was injured, and police believe this case is related to the other four.

In each case, the victims told officers the shooter was a passenger in a light-colored, possibly tan Ford Escape or Ford Explorer with a luggage rack on top.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Kubinsky at 817-459-6071. People may remain anonymous at Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County at 817-469-8477.
