Puppy dies in crossfire of Fort Worth shooting; animal cruelty division investigates

A puppy died after being caught in the crossfire during a shooting on Monday night, Fort Worth police said.

Police responding to a shots-fired call at an apartment complex in the 4500 block of Nautilus Circle reported no people were injured, but officers did report that the dog had been fatally wounded.

The shooting was reported about 9 p.m. No arrests were announced Tuesday, and no description of suspects was released.

Investigators with Fort Worth’s animal cruelty department are investigating the death, according to police.
