3 people shot outside Fourth of July party at Fort Worth club, police say
Three people were shot just after midnight Sunday by a man with possible gang ties after he was refused entry to a party at Divas Dance Club in Fort Worth, according to police.
Police spokesman Tracy Carter said all three victims were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at local hospitals.
The man police say they believe to be the shooter was arrested at an area hospital after being treated for lacerations, Carter said.
The shooter went to Divas Dance Club, at 3810 Altamesa Blvd., Saturday night. Police said when he was refused entry to the club he pulled a handgun out of his waistband and opened fire on a “very large crowd.”
Police initially received a call that a woman had been shot. After arriving at the scene, another two shooting victims were reported at an area hospital. They were transported in a private vehicle, Carter said.
Fort Worth Police Department’s gang unit took over the investigation and made the arrest.
Carter said police are still investigating the gathering to see if any citations or charges will be pressed against the club owner for hosting the gathering when social distancing policies are in effect due to coronavirus and the number of people allowed at a gathering is limited.
