Person’s body found burning off of I-20 in Dallas area, police say
Mesquite police are investigating after officers found an unidentified person’s body burning off of Interstate 20 on Thursday morning, the department said.
Units were dispatched around 6:30 a.m. to help firefighters responding to a fire call in the 17500 block of the eastbound highway. The caller had stated smoke was coming from a wooded area next to the road, just west of High Country Lane, police said in an email.
Responding officers went to the location, where they found a dead person who had been set on fire, police said.
The department didn’t immediately release details about the victim or how the person might have been killed.
