North Texas man dies after reporting 2 suspects shot him in robbery attempt, police say
A 54-year-old man died early Monday morning after calling 911 to report he had been shot by two people during an attempted robbery in Lewisville, police said.
Paramedics took the man, whose identity wasn’t released, to a hospital, where he later died.
The man had called 911 before 2 a.m. on Monday to report the attempted robbery in the 900 block of Valley Ridge Boulevard, police said in a news release. He told the dispatcher the two suspects ran away.
Police don’t yet have a physical description of the suspects, according to the release. Police didn’t include the gender of the suspects in the release.
The department is still trying to figure out what happened in the moments leading up to the shooting.
Detectives are continuing to gather evidence and talk to suspects, police said.
