Assailant enters man’s Fort Worth house and shoots him in the foot, authorities say

An assailant entered a man’s east Fort Worth house Thursday and struck him with a weapon before shooting him in the foot, authorities said.

The victim, whose name and age the police did not release, was shot about 3:15 p.m. in the 3800 block of Avenue G, police said.

The man was seriously injured, said Officer Jimmy Pollozani, a Fort Worth police spokesman. His injuries are not life-threatening. He was taken to a hospital.

The assailant left the scene and was not in custody Thursday afternoon, Pollozani said.
