Man killed, woman hurt in Arlington shooting; police detain two juveniles

Arlington police have detained two juveniles in connection with the fatal shooting of a man Sunday morning, police said.

The victim has been identified as John Christopher Brennan, 28, according to officials with the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. A ruling on his death is pending.

Brennan was pronounced dead at his home, according to the medical examiner’s website on Monday.

At 7:42 a.m. Sunday, Arlington police responded to a shooting call in the 2100 block of Foxcroft Lane. Officers found a man and woman who had been shot. The man died at the home and the woman went to the hospital with serious injuries, police said in a press release.

Officers detained two juveniles in the area. Police did not release further information because of the minors’ ages.

Police said they do not think the shooting was random and said that those involved knew one another. Police were still investigating and had not determined a motive for the shooting.
