A motorcycle passenger was fatally ejected from the vehicle and the driver seriously injured Saturday afternoon after evading officers.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the wreck on Business 287 and Tinsley Lane north of Fort Worth.
A highway patrol trooper pulled over a Honda motorcycle for speeding on U.S. 287 southbound around Ramhorn Hill Road near the Wise and Tarrant County line. The driver stopped, but as the trooper approached the vehicle sped away.
While evading law enforcement, the motorcycle rear-ended a Honda Accord that was slowing to yield to a patrol car and both the driver and female passenger were ejected at about 1:29 p.m., DPS spokesman Lonny Haschel said via email.
Haschel said the female passenger, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was airlifted to Texas Health Resources Harris Hospital in Fort Worth.
The Honda Accord driver was not injured.
