17-year-old shot, killed Fort Worth teen he was planning robbery with, warrant says

A teenage boy was indicted last week in connection with the killing of another teen whose body was found riddled with gunshot wounds behind an abandoned building in east Fort Worth, according to jail records and an arrest warrant provided by police.

The suspect, Tremon Lee Richard, 17, of Arlington, had been plotting to rob a drug stash house on Nov. 26, 2019, with Javarus Jackson, 16, of Fort Worth, when, for unknown reasons, he shot and killed him, the warrant states.

Richard was indicted on a murder charge March 10 following his arrest in December 2019.

He told investigators a third person carried out the shooting but evidence pointed to him being the gunman, according to the warrant, written by Detective K.M. Brickley.

Jackson’s mother had access to her son’s Instagram account, and shared his messages with police, according to the warrant. Several messages between Jackson and Richard discussed a robbery.

Richard is in the Tarrant County Correction Center on $150,000 bond.
