Drug investigation leads to second police raid at north Fort Worth residence
A drug investigation led to a raid Tuesday night at the same north Fort Worth home that was raided by the FBI and other law enforcement agencies in September 2018.
In that 2018 raid, Dallas police said the leader of a “large-scale” sex trafficking ring was arrested at the house. Eleven women who police say were sold for sex by Tremont Blakemore, 39, were recovered. Two boys — ages 2 and 9 months — were also taken from the home and placed into foster care, according to officials with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.
Fort Worth and Grand Prairie police provided few details on the Tuesday night raid in the 12,400 block of Yellow Wood Drive, in an upscale neighborhood in north Fort Worth.
“I can tell you it was not related to human trafficking as those individuals no longer lived there,” said Grand Prairie police spokesman Mark Beseda on Thursday.
Grand Prairie police said Tuesday’s raid involved a narcotics investigation.
Neighbors told KXAS-TV they saw officers carry out a large safe Tuesday night.
The house at 12405 Yellow Wood Drive is the only home on the block that’s a rental property, multiple neighbors said.
According to the Tarrant Appraisal District, the home — valued at $411,391 — is owned by 2012 Properties LLC. The company has a P.O. Box in Dallas, but no contact information is available online.
According to Realtor.com, the house was last sold in 2015. The home has five bedrooms and four bathrooms. According to Trulia, the home was off the market as of November 2017. A description says: “Beautiful home in a very desirable subdivision. Pets are a case by case basis, Contact Mario for all details.”
There is no longer any contact information for Mario on the website.
Because of the size of the home and the fact that the residents were renters, one neighbor told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram in 2018 she never thought twice about the amount of traffic and cars. She thought several people were sharing the home.
Tremont Blakemore, who was arrested in the Fort Worth home in 2018, has pleaded not guilty to a federal charge of sex trafficking.
His federal trial is pending.
