Husband shot dead in fight with wife in Little Elm, police say; 4 children in house

A 31-year-old man was shot dead early Wednesday at his house in Little Elm during a domestic disturbance with his wife, police said.

Caleb Butler was shot in the head about 12:30 a.m. at the house in the 2800 block of Quietwater Drive, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office said.

Litle Elm police had not announced an arrest Wednesday night and said their investigation was incomplete.

There were four children in the house when Butler was shot, police said. No injuries to the children were reported. The Texas Child Protective Services office is investigating.

Butler died at the scene. His wife was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries she suffered during the fight, police said.
