A 72-year-old man shot his daughter to death Thursday inside a sport utility vehicle that crashed through a fence and struck a tree at an east Fort Worth gated estate, police alleged.
Queenette Johnson, 39, of Fort Worth, was found in the driver’s seat and died at a hospital, police said.
A pistol was found on the ground near the back of the SUV, police said.
Alvie Johnson Jr. of Forest Hill was booked Thursday evening into the Fort Worth Jail on suspicion of murder, according to jail records. He was moved to the Tarrant County Jail, where he remained Friday. Bond was set at $250,000.
Police did not release a motive.
Queenette Johnson was shot about 12:15 p.m. on the grounds of a house in the 8300 block of Meadowbrook Drive, police said. The person who called 911 also reported hearing a gunshot about the time of the crash.
The property on which Johnson was slain is owned by real estate investor G.L. “Buck” Harris and his wife, who declined to comment.
