Fort Worth police ask for help finding driver who killed woman skateboarding on Christmas

Police are asking for help finding the hit-and-run driver who killed a 24-year-old woman who was skateboarding in Fort Worth on Christmas.

At about 9:30 p.m., the woman was skateboarding on the eastbound service road near the 5600 block of Interstate 20. A black Ford F-150 pickup truck hit her on the road, Fort Worth police said.

The driver of the truck briefly stopped before driving away without helping the woman.

The woman died on Dec. 26 at a hospital, police said. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner identified her as Courtney Flower Malone, 24, from Hurst.

On Tuesday, Fort Worth police asked for the public’s help finding the driver of the truck that hit Malone. A witness told police the truck was damaged on the right side, and the the front right side mirror of the truck will be missing or damaged.

Anyone with information about the hit-and-run can call 817-392-4890. Detectives with Fort Worth’s Traffic Investigations Unit are working the case.
