2 suspected human traffickers arrested, 3 victims rescued in Fort Worth police sting
Two suspected human traffickers were arrested over the weekend during a vice operation in west Fort Worth, Fort Worth police said.
The operation also led to the rescue of three victims.
Police did not identify the suspected traffickers or provide any other details on the trafficking case.
In the same operation, 10 women accused of prostitution were arrested over the weekend, according to Fort Worth Jail records.
Six women were taken into custody early Monday.
Prostitution is a Class B misdemeanor and if convicted a person faces a maximum of six months in jail and/or a $2,000 fine.
If convicted twice before of prostitution, it’s a Class A misdemeanor and the maximum sentence is a year in jail and a $4,000 fine.
If you have three prior prostitution convictions, it’s a state jail felony.
Three arrests were made Saturday night and another woman was arrested early Sunday, according to Fort Worth Jail records.
The 10 women ranged in age from 18 to 31.
The weekend arrests came just days after seven men were arrested on prostitution charges in Fort Worth neighborhoods during another police operation. An undercover police officer was a prostitution decoy on neighborhood streets on a recent afternoon.
