D’oh! Homer Simpson-shaped ecstasy tablets among drugs found in Southlake, police say

Ecstasy tablets in the shape of television character Homer Simpson’s head were among the colorful narcotics Southlake police said they found Wednesday in a car.

Some of the 212 tablets were imprinted with the MTV network logo and all looked like candy, police wrote in a Facebook post.

A Glock .40-caliber handgun and about 100 grams of marijuana also were in the car, police alleged.

The driver, whose name and age police did not release, was booked on suspicion of possession of a firearm by a felon and manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, police said.

A Southlake officer saw the driver of a Chrysler 300 run a stop sign about 9 a.m. Wednesday and stopped the car, police said. It had a hidden compartment in its trunk.
