Woman attacked while on trail in north Fort Worth, police search for suspect
A woman who was on a trail in north Fort Worth was attacked from behind on Saturday morning, the Fort Worth Police Department said.
She was in the area of 5200 Ten Mile Bridge near Marine Creek reservoir when a man knocked her to the ground. The woman screamed and fought with the man, but he hit her several times and threatened more violence if she didn’t stay quiet, police said.
A person who was nearby heard the woman’s screams and ran toward her. The attacker then ran away.
Police say they’re looking for a black man in his late teens or early 20s who was wearing a blue hooded shirt. He was described as 5 feet 7 inches tall and about 140 pounds.
The attack is being investigated by the department’s Sex Crimes Unit.
