Police identify a 6-year-old boy and his mother who died in apparent murder-suicide

Frisco police say they still have not determined what led to the deaths of a 6-year-old boy and his mother who were found in a parked vehicle last month.

The incident is being investigated as a homicide/suicide, but autopsies have not been finished, police stated.

Tejas Pachika, 6, and his mother, 41-year-old Vasavi Vaka, of Frisco, were found in a parked car about 5:55 p.m. on March 23, police said in a news release Friday.

Police had not previously identified the two victims.

Police and fire officials were responding to a welfare call in the 15200 block of Preachers Lane when the two were found and Pachika was pronounced dead at the scene, police reported.

Vaka was taken to a local hospital where she remained until her death on April 5, police stated in a news release.

The investigation is ongoing, police said. Initial information showed this to be an isolated incident and presented no threat to the public.
