Police use helicopter to search for man they say shot his father in south Fort Worth

A man shot his father and fled the area in south Fort Worth on Saturday afternoon, police said.

At 4:09 p.m., police responded to a shooting call in the 1800 block of San Rafael Street. A group of people had been fighting in the area, Officer Bradley Perez said.

A 50-year-old man was shot during the fight. An update on his condition was not immediately available.

The man’s adult son started to leave the area in a gray Honda and police called in a helicopter to search for him.

The suspect was found and arrested, Perez said.
