Man shot at food mart in Fort Worth, no suspects identified, police say
A man was shot in the leg in southeast Fort Worth at a food mart just before 7 p.m. on Friday, police said.
An hour later, police still had the parking lot blocked off at Joe’s Future Food Mart, in the 4000 block of Miller Avenue. About fifteen police officers were at the scene, and a dozen other people stood near the parking lot.
Two men who work inside the store, Rayed Misad and Moe Younis, said they heard gunshots and ducked down. When nothing happened, they looked outside.
Misad said he saw two men shooting at each other in the parking lot. One of the men ran inside the store as a car full of people drove passed and fired more shots, Misad said. That man was shot in the back of his leg as he ran down the aisle, Misad said.
The food mart door was also broken during the shooting, Misad said.
Younis said the man who was shot was taken away in an ambulance.
The man’s condition was not known Friday night, police said, and no suspects had been arrested.
