Warrants issued for two more people in stabbing, shooting of Fort Worth 23-year-old

Two more suspects have been identified in the fatal shooting of a Fort Worth man on Nov. 1.

Diego Martinez, 23, died after being shot in the abdomen in the 1300 block of East Butler St. Police responded to the area and found a number of people trying to revive Martinez, who had also been stabbed.

On Nov. 22, Robert Santos Rico, 20, was charged with murder in Martinez’s death.

On Tuesday, Fort Worth police named Daniel Rosales, 26, and Sonita Rosales, 28, as suspects in the case.

“Two other suspects have been issued capital murder warrants and need to be located,” police said.

Police said the Rosaleses were seen in a 2014 white four-door GMC Sierra that fled from the intersection where Martinez was found. The truck has the license plate KZB3125 and black rims.

Daniel Rosales was described by police as a Hispanic man with brown hair, 5 feet 9 inches tall and 200 pounds. Sonita Rosales is a Hispanic woman with long brown hair, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 115 pounds, police said. She has “Faith” tattooed above her left eye.

Rico was booked into the Tarrant County Jail on Oct. 28. He was ordered to undergo an examination for mental illness but was released from jail before it was done.

Two days later, Martinez was killed.

Rico faces a charge of murder and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

Police have released few details about Rico’s arrest, citing an ongoing investigation, but said it stems from an incident earlier in November.
