Man’s mother told police he confessed to stabbing, killing 24-year-old Dallas woman
A Texas man was arrested Friday and charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 24-year-old woman.
Jeremy Todd Meeks, 38, was arrested on an unrelated burglary charge on Friday night, according to Dallas police. While being interviewed, Meeks confessed to stabbing Lin Wang and her roommate on Sept. 21 in their apartment.
According to an arrest affidavit, Meeks’ mother also told police her son told her he had stabbed two women and described the knife that was used.
Wang died from her injuries while her roommate survived. Detectives determined Wang went outside to walk her dog and was followed back to her apartment by a man she did not know.
Meeks was being held at the Dallas County jail on a $505,000 bail as of Saturday night. He was charged with capital murder and burglary.
Wang was a recent graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas with a master’s degree in accounting.
