Police were investigating a shooting during a high school football game Thursday night in Carrollton.

According to Carrollton police, one person was shot in the chest at Hebron High School at 8:38 p.m.

Carrollton Officer Jolen DeVito said two men were in the stands at the JV football game when they started fighting. They left the stadium and continued fighting near the main gate by the ticket booth.

One of the men, who is in his mid 40s, took out a gun and shot the other man in the chest.

The man who was shot, who was in his 30s, was taken to the hospital in critical condition, DeVito said.

The older man was arrested.

“We’re still piecing together what their association with the game was,” DeVito said.

No students were injured.
