Escaped Hood County Jail inmate captured
Authorities have captured an inmate who escaped from the Hood County Jail through a ceiling vent early Wednesday.
Cody Wayne Bedford, 34, was found in the 7000 Block of Colony Road, west of Granbury, at 11:15 a.m., Hood County Sheriff Roger Deeds confirmed.
Deeds had said it appears that Bedford escaped by getting into a ceiling vent, then breaking out onto the roof and fleeing on foot before sunrise.
Bedford had been jailed since June 18 on charges of aggravated assault of a public servant, criminal mischief and assault.
Deeds said Sheriff’s Department personnel, local law enforcement, the Texas Rangers and the U.S. marshal’s office assisted in the search.
