Police ask for public's help identifying man caught on video taking jewelry from store

Police have released remarkably clear (for surveillance) video of a man who may have been looking to take a five-finger discount on some Valentine's Day gifts in the Stockyards.

Police say a Hispanic male wearing a maroon baseball hat, a navy blue hoodie and white tennis shoes stole a ring and three bracelets from the Jersey Lilly Silver and Stone store at 104 E. Exchange Ave.

The suspect asked to view some jewelry behind the manager's back, police say, and took the pieces without paying for them while her back was turned.

Police ask anyone with information on the subject's identity to call 817-392-4260.
