Fort Worth officer, motorist injured in wreck

A Fort Worth officer and a motorist were injured early Tuesday in a wreck in which a patrol car was hit by another vehicle in north Fort Worth, police said.

The patrol car was responding to a chase at the time of the accident, authorities said. Television images showed the patrol car on its side.

The officer and motorist were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The wreck was reported shortly before 3:30 a.m. at Northern Cross Boulevard and Beach Street near the Haltom City and Fort Worth city limits.

The patrol vehicle was eastbound on Northern Cross Boulevard and the other vehicle was southbound on Beach Street when the vehicles collided, police said.

The chase ended in Haltom City, and a person was arrested, Haltom City police said Tuesday.
