As many others have done nationwide, dozens of North Texas residents gathered in Levitt Pavilion on Sunday to honor three Muslim university students shot to death in Chapel Hill, N.C., earlier this week.

Deah Barakat, 23; his wife, Yusor Mohammad Abu-Salha, 21; and Abu-Salha’s sister Razan, 19, were fatally wounded at a condominium near the University of North Carolina. The couple attended dentistry classes at UNC, and Razan, a North Carolina State University student, was visiting from Raleigh.

Police have said the initial investigation suggests that the three were slain Tuesday because of a long-running dispute over parking at their condominium complex. Craig Hicks, 46, has been charged with three counts of murder.
