Two young military men are being held in the Parker County jail Friday on accusations that they stole property from Brock High School after breaking into the agricultural building wearing military-style tactical clothing and carrying rifles.

Sheldon Lee Mowery, 20, and Kyle Wilson Alexander, 19, were arrested at the Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio where the two men are stationed and where much of the stolen property was located, according to the Parker County Sheriff’s Office.

Both men were booked into the Parker County jail late Thursday night on suspicion of burglary of a building. Bail for each was set at $15,000, jail records show.

The break-in is believed to have happened late Sunday, according to a probable cause affidavit written by Parker County Investigator Darrell Self.

Surveillance videos captured two suspects, carrying backpacks and rifles, break into the agricultural building through a window. The suspects appeared to know the location of the cameras, even moving one so it would face a wall, the affidavit states.

Stolen in the burglary were a Toshiba laptop computer, an iMac desktop computer and monitor, a Hewlett Packard monitor, two Epson overhead projectors, as well as four Yeti cooler 20-ounce cups and 20 beef jerky sticks. The estimated value of the stolen items is about $8,000, the sheriff’s office said.

The Hewlett Packard monitor was later found in a ditch of Old Dennis Road.

Police began investigating Mowery after learning from a school resource officer that several students had reported that he was back in town for the weekend from the military and might have been involved. Mowery’s Facebook page indicates he is a former Brock High School student.

Mowery’s mother was interviewed by investigators and confirmed that her son, and a friend named “Kyle” had visited. She said the two men had spent the night elsewhere on Sunday evening and that before returning to the military base, her son had asked her if she wanted to purchase a Yeti Rambler cup for $20, the affidavit states.

The affidavit states when later questioned, Mowery gave inconsistent locations of where he had been staying in Parker County and denied bringing anyone with him from Fort Sam Houston.
